The information of smart meters is mainly transmitted to the power supply company through wireless communication modules and specific communication protocols.

Smart electricity meters are equipped with wireless communication transmission module, which can realize data collection of electricity meters. These modules transmit the collected data to the concentrator under specific protocols (e. g., RS485, Modbus, 3G,PLC,etc.) through autonomous networks. As a transfer station for the data, the concentrator will further transmit the data to the management platform of the power management company or the power supply company through GPRS, Ethernet or other communication modes.

Specifically, the data transmission process of smart meters may include the following steps:

Meter data collection: The smart meter collects real-time electricity data, such as electricity, voltage and current, etc., through built-in sensors and metering modules.

Data transfer to the concentrator: the collected data is transferred to the concentrator through the wireless communication module according to the agreed protocol. The concentrator is usually located near the meter box or at a designated data acquisition point, responsible for receiving data from multiple smart meters.

Data transfer and upload: After the concentrator collects the data, it will be initially processed and stored. Then, the data is transmitted to the power supply company's management platform or data center through GPRS, optical fiber, Ethernet and other communication methods.

In addition, smart meters may use other modes of communication, such as power line carrier communication (PLC), which modulate data signals to high-frequency carrier signals and transmit them through existing power lines. This method requires without laying additional communication lines and is relatively low, but may be affected by noise interference and signal attenuation on power lines 1.

In general, the information transmission process of smart meters is a complex and efficient system, which relies on advanced communication technologies and protocols, ensuring the accurate, real-time and safe transmission of data, and providing strong support for the management and decision-making of power supply companies.

During the recent years,Tepsung company developed and designed both single phase and three phase smart meters. To meet the market demand, Tepsung smart meters equipped with one top-settled G3-PLC/ GPRS/4G/Wi-SUN  replaceable remote communication module. The remote communication port can be used for remote data collecting and load control. This smart meter can help the Utility company build smart home and AMI system easily.

The smart meter addØOptical port, with IEC62056-21 compliant,ØAlso can make the communication unit G3-PLC/GPRS/4G/Wi-SUN module,or Wired interface:RS485,M-Bus,protocol DLMS/COSEM,totally meet the international requirements for the smart meters.

Founded in 1985, it is one of the earliest enterprises in Taizhou City specializing in the production of electric energy meters, and also one of the larger electric energy meter production enterprises in our city.
